Saraswati Devi (Amanda)

FOUNDER

Certified meditation teacher
B.Eng (Electrical)

Saraswati's journey with meditation began 18 years ago when, as an electrical engineering student, she turned to meditation to manage high anxiety and stress. What began as a practical tool quickly became a profound passion and lifelong path of inner exploration and transformation.

The Buddhist tradition is where Saraswati's journey began, and she continues to return to it throughout the years. Buddhism has provided her with a solid foundation for training the mind and cultivating deep compassion for all living beings.

Beginning with self-study and progressing through group classes and silent retreats with Buddhist monks, her practice deepened into formal training.

Saraswati is a certified Tibetan Buddhist Calm Abiding meditation teacher following training with Pema Khandro of the Nyingma tradition. She studied the Preliminary Practices of Vajrayana, received teachings and initiations in Buddhist Tantra, and dedicated significant time to Buddhist theory and philosophy with renowned Gelug tradition teachers including Geshe Tsultrim of Chenrezig Institute.

Six years of study with Australian spiritual teacher Shakti Durga and Shanti Mission introduced Saraswati to the Indian Vedic tradition and the path of devotion (Bhakti), the tradition in which she feels most deeply at home. At Shanti Mission she trained in energy healing and became a certified meditation facilitator. Through Shakti Durga she met the beloved Indian Guru Sri Sakthi Amma, who over ten years has been a profound source of guidance, healing and inspiration. Saraswati has made extended annual visits to Amma's ashram in India attending retreats, receiving direct transmission, learning mantras and meditation techniques, learning devotional practices and performing Seva (selfless service) through Amma's many charity projects. It is through Bhakti and Seva, Saraswati believes, that the heart opens most directly to Divine love and pure joy. It is Amma who helped her to truly experience this. It is with Amma that she was given the confidence and strength to share her greatest passion to others by founding Joy-Filled Living.

After a spontaneous and profound visit to the Indian Himalayan region in late 2019 to meditate in a sacred cave, Saraswati came to know about Mahavatar Babaji. Four years later she met her now Guru Yogiraj Amar Jyoti who is a disciple of Mahavatar Babji. She regularly visits the Himalayan Ashram of Yogiraj for solo retreats.

In 2017 Saraswati began teaching meditation and mantra in Berlin; from intimate gatherings in her apartment, to yoga studios, online classes and corporate meditation seminars. Her background in the corporate world gave her a unique ability to make meditation accessible and relevant in professional environments. Joy-Filled Living was founded in Berlin in 2018 to formalise her vision and heart's work. In 2020 she returned to her home country Australia, where she continues to teach.

Every person Saraswati teaches is considered soul family who remains in her heart forever. Nothing brings her greater joy than sharing the tools that have so profoundly transformed her own life.

Saraswati brings over 18 years of authentic practice, cross-traditional training and direct transmission from living masters. Her teaching is not only theoretical, it is drawn from genuine transformation, deep study and a lifetime of devoted practice. She teaches because she knows, from the inside out, that these tools work. And nothing brings her greater joy than watching others discover that for themselves.
